Minaaz Kara

Owner / Pharmacist

Owner and Pharmacist of Wexford Heights Pharmasave, Minaaz Kara considers it a privilege to serve the warm, friendly, and highly diverse community of Wexford Heights. From young to old, Minaaz has always enjoyed getting to know each generation of a family – sometimes up to 3 generations in fact. 

He and his father Gulamali and brother Riyaz purchased the pharmacy from original owner and Pharmacist Nelson Stader in the early 2000’s, and continued to grow and shape it into the full store it is today. He credits Nelson and his father as his greatest mentors, and his brother Riyaz as his inspiration until his passing in 2004. And now more than just a Pharmacy, Wexford Heights Pharmasave is your one-stop-shop for all your daily needs, from perishable and non-perishable items to gifts, toys, office supplies and more. A full Home Health Care department and Cosmetics department is fully stocked to meet all your needs.

Minaaz received his degree in Pharmacy from the University of London in 1988, being part of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. 

When not at the store, Minaaz has dedicated his life to his family, and inner work as well – becoming a Black Belt 1st degree in Taekwondo. 

Neda 

Pharmacist

“A challenging fast paced environment with a strong team and wonderful customers,” is why Neda enjoys her position as Pharmacist so much at Wexford Heights Pharamsave. Neda received her Pharmacy training in Iran, gaining experience there for over 12 years. After meeting the Canadian requirements, she then became a valued member of the Wexford Heights team in 2007.

Outside of the pharmacy, Neda loves sports like swimming and running, and spending time with her kids. She also hopes to take up the piano again one day!

Josephine 

Pharmacy Technician

Josephine knows the Wexford Heights community like no other, having lived in this area since 1994. She brings this knowledge and understanding to her role as Pharmacy Technician, in a way that makes her perfect in working with the valued customers of this community. 

When not assisting customers behind the pharmacy counter, Josephine likes to keep her house spotless, and spends as much time outdoors gardening as she can.

Josephine completed the Pharmacy Technician course from Medixs College in Scarborough in 2008.

Lillian 

Pharmacy Technician

Wexford Heights Pharmasave contributes its success in the community to its dedicated and knowledgeable staff, and Lillian is one such example of this. She’s been a Pharmacy Technician since 1997, helping and serving customers for over 16 years! With such knowledge and experience, you know you’re in capable hands when working with Lillian.

Lillian graduated from the Humber College Pharmacy Technician Certification Program in 1994, and enjoys her continued education behind the counter each day.

Althea 

Front Store Manager

Althea receives great satisfaction in her role as Front Store Manager at Wexford Heights Pharmasave, getting to help customers find what they’re looking for and being able to “go the extra mile” to source those hard to get items that can’t be found anywhere else. “It always gives me a good feeling to call a customer back knowing I’ve helped them locate something they need,” she says.

And Althea certainly knows Wexford Heights Pharmasave well, having been with the location through its different iterations since 2000. If there’s something you need, ask Althea and she’ll be more than happy to assist you! 

Nada 

Cosmetician

Nada is both Cosmetician and Cosmetics Manager at Wexford Heights Pharmasave, having been with the store since October of 2000. “The customers are like my family,” she says, “I always enjoy seeing them when they come in the door.” 

She also loves her work environment, with a great group of fellow staff, and new challenges that always keep her interested. 

Nada likes to remind customers the Cosmetics Department also offers ear piercing as well, as experienced by even her own staff members!

When not at the store, Nada LOVES to dance, goes to the gym, reads, and enjoys watching a good movie. 

Rita 

Cosmetician

Rita loves her position as Cosmetician at Wexford Heights Pharmasave, proven by her many years of helping and serving customers to bring out their inner beauty, since 2000. “It’s wonderful to see someone satisfied with a new cosmetic, or to see their excitement to learn a new technique,” Rita says.

Sue 

Front Store

If anyone knows the Wexford Heights community, it’s Sue. She’s lived in the area for over 35 years and has worked at the stores since 2002. 

“Everyone here gets along so well, and the customers make each day enjoyable and fun,” she says. “You never know what will happen next.”

As her family is quite musical, Sue enjoys listening to them play their instruments and sing, with her role being the “audience” as she says.

Fatima 

Cashier

Fatima is also a long standing member of the Wexford Heights Pharmasave team, since 2007. With a wonderful smile and serving heart, Fatima is the perfect person to assist you in store and help you at the cash register. She also works at the cosmetics desk too. 

A mother of 4 kids, Fatmia finds work ‘relaxing’ and is full of energy when going back home. Going to the gym is also one of her past times too. 

Nacima 

Cashier

Nacima has helped the customers of Wexford Heights Pharmasave at the front cash since 2011. With her friendly smile and warm demeanor, she’ll make sure you’re well taken care of, and treated with kindness and with courtesy.

When not at the store, Nacima enjoys reading an addictive novel, or watching romantic comedies.
